About the Journal
The Journal of International Spine Society (JISS) is the official publication of the International Spine Society (ISS). As a peer-reviewed, open-access journal, JISS is dedicated to the publication of high-quality articles related to all aspects of spinal health. The journal is published triannually and was established in 2025 with the mission to serve as a comprehensive, international platform for the dissemination of cutting-edge research and clinical practice in spine care.
JISS promotes a multidisciplinary approach to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of spinal pathologies, welcoming contributions from a wide range of healthcare professionals, including but not limited to spine surgeons, neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, rheumatologists, and pain specialists. Submissions are encouraged from researchers and clinicians across the globe, regardless of specialty or professional status, who are engaged in advancing the understanding and treatment of spinal conditions.
The primary aim of JISS is to provide critical analysis and in-depth perspectives on contemporary issues in spine surgery. The journal accepts manuscripts across various categories, including Original Articles, Review Articles, Case Reports, Editorial Commentaries, Clinical Guidelines, and Evidence Updates.
