Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

Editorial policies and Peer Review Process
Journal of International Spine Society
is a peer reviewed journal. The aim of the peer review policy is to maintain the objectivity, transparency, and quality of the Journal at the highest. The reviewer database is frequently updated to meet the needs of the Journal.

Policies on Conflict of Interest, Human and Animal rights, and Informed Consent

Authors are expected to declare and sign necessary documents regarding their manuscript steps if required (conflict of interest, human and animal rights, informed consent, etc). For all the studies both conducted on human beings and animals as well as drug researches, ethical committee approval should be taken and a signed copy of "Ethical Committee Approval" should be send to the journal. The manuscripts will not be published without a copy of the “ethical committee approval. Authors should obey the rules in "Helsinki Declaration", "Good Medical Practice Guidelines", and "Good Laboratories Practice Guidelines".

The Role of Journal Editors in Reviewing and Approving Published Material

The Technical Editor is responsible for an initial assessment to ensure that the manuscript complies with the journal’s submission guidelines. This includes verifying that all required documents have been properly uploaded to the submission system—specifically, the Ethical Committee Approval for research studies, the "Contribution Form" signed by all authors, and the "Copyright Release Form" also signed by all authors. Additionally, the Technical Editor evaluates whether the manuscript aligns with the scope of the journal. Once these preliminary technical requirements are fulfilled, the editorial review process formally begins.

Copyright
The copyrights of the studies published in the Journal of International Spine Society (JISS) belong to JISS. However being an open access journal, the authors are free to publish and share the final version of the published article.
