Archiving Policy

The Journal of International Spine Society (JISS) is committed to the long-term preservation and accessibility of all published content. Our archiving policy ensures that the scholarly content remains available to the global research community, regardless of technological changes or unforeseen events.

1. Digital Archiving

JISS utilizes multiple trusted archiving services and repositories to preserve its published material. All articles are digitally archived and stored in secure and reliable formats to ensure content integrity and accessibility over time.

We employ the following strategies for digital preservation:

  • Use of trusted third-party archiving services

  • Redundant storage on secure servers with regular backups

  • Assignment of persistent identifiers (DOIs) to all articles for consistent citation and retrieval

2. Self-Archiving by Authors

Authors are encouraged to deposit the final published version (Version of Record) of their articles in institutional repositories, subject repositories, or personal websites, provided that proper citation and linkage to the original source at JISS are maintained.

3. Open Access and Availability

JISS is an open-access journal. All content is freely available without embargo and is accessible through our official website and designated repositories. We ensure that metadata and full texts are indexed and archived to promote discoverability.

4. Journal Preservation Plan in Case of Closure

In the unlikely event that JISS ceases publication, all published content will remain accessible through our archiving partners and institutional repositories. Steps will be taken to transfer ownership and access rights to a trusted organization or library to maintain uninterrupted access.
